I've since discovered that Stargate: Universe (SGU) is slated for release in the US sometime in October.
Interestingly that they hired John Scalzi as a "creative consultant" (whatever that means)!!

John Scalzi has wonderful ideas in his SF novels. Perhaps they want new ideas / directions for Stargate.
