I just read off the BBC website that Peter Davison will reprise his role as the 5th doctor for this years Children in Need special, which is sadly not aired here in australia by the ABC (at least not to my knowledge).

The usual woes that we have about ABC's ineptness aside, I'm very much interested to see how the BBC will pull this off as it will be the first time the current doctor will cross paths with a previous incarnation of himself in this current series. I can't be exactly sure but I believe that the last time this was done was during Colin Bakers tenure as the doctor when they did the episode with him and Patrick Troughton's doctor. I think the sontarans were involved aswell. Like I said, I can't be exactly sure.

There was a children in special included in the extras for the box set for series 2. Hopefully they will do it again for this.

The tidbit went for about 7 minutes and was sort of a filler between when the Doctor regenerated and when they got to Earth. Rose was basically saying "Who the hell are you? Bring back my Doctor!""

And Tim, I refuse to believe you don't know about the box sets!

Does it have the Backstage at Xmas special on it as well? A couple of minutes of behind the scene stuff of the first Xmas special.

Just to let you know that I've since seen said episode and words can't adequately explain how brilliant it is. My only woe is that it only goes for about 8 minutes or so. What would be interesting to see is an entire episode (or three) with a past Doctor cross-over. If they brought the Master back then one should ask why not bring back a past doctor and do a story arc about that? But that's just me.

I saw Time Crash last night on youtube. I thought it was brilliant. I thought that the explaination for Peter Davisons Doctor having aged was ingenious.

I'll agree with you there. It's a pretty good episode. Steven Moffat knows what he's doing. It would be good to see that same talent put into a whole episode (or three) with a past doctor cross-over like Time Crash. I've got nothing bad to say about it except that it wasn't long enough.
