Ok, normally the meeting is held on the third Thursday of the month. In December that would put us on the 20th, which is the last Thursday night before Christmas.

Is there any objection to moving the meeting to the previous week (13th)?

Dan / Tim

I have no objections to moving the meeting one week earlier. I'm sure the other guys in the group won't object either.

Keep smiling

The December meeting is confirmed for the 13th at 6.30pm. The books this meeting are both science fiction:

John Scalzi's Old Man's War

and

Kurt Vonnegutt's Slaughterhouse Five

G'day all

I don't know if anyone else watches Criminal Minds or not, but this book and author got a great plug, with many quotes banded about last night on the episode.

Just thought it was worth mentioning!

Have a great day

Any chance "Old Man's War" will be in stock in the next couple of weeks?

Tim, can you also let me know as well when it arrives. This way at least I would have read at least one book for the next review meeting.

Old Man's War arrived today. http://www.infinitas.com.au/Product.php?bar=9780765348272
We (and other booksellers according the our association) have suffered some delays in receiving books recently. Well, the floodgates opened and lots of boxes arrived today.

Got my copy of Old Man's War today and this time I will finish my homework and read the whole thing!

I also picked up World War Z (http://www.infinitas.com.au/Product.php ... 0307346612) which sounds very interesting and got into the best seller lists overseas. Of course it may be the wrong shape for the review group as it is taller and wider than a normal paperback.

See you all next meeting.

I agree. World War Z looks interesting and will add my vote to it for the review group - providing I remember of cours

G'day all

I've picked up Old Man's War, and I've only just started reading it, and I've read Slaughterhouse 5, so I should be ready for the meeting on Thursday!

See you then :D
