Information about the US... Gen Con LLC announced on Feb 15 that they have filed for Chapter 11 protection in the United States Bankruptcy Court.

The reason given for this was that it "became necessary as a result of significant unforeseen expenses associated with attempts to expand its core business to encompass externally licensed events."

Also, it was announced that Gen Con Indy and any international Gen Con events are uneffected by this and will be going ahead as scheduled. This is good news for Australia, and Gen Con is finally heading down under later this year. After so many years, it would have been terrible if it was cancelled when it is so close to happening.

Reads like a cross between the PR and Legal department. In other words, after reading it I think I know what they are talking about but they succeeded in that I don't know what they were saying.
