Not entirely unexpected, but sad news nonetheless.

Yes, this is very sad news. RJ was a great author, and despite the negativity that the WoT series had attracted due its length, I always enjoyed reading it.

It also interesting to note the previous blog entry... apparently RJ sat Harriet and Wilson (his brother/cousin) down a couple of weeks ago and talked them through the ending of WoT series. It makes you wonder, if somehow he knew his time was up.

It seems that every few days for the past few years we have been fielding various forms of the question: When is the next Wheel of Time book coming out?
This is sad news for all these fans.

The dragonmount website seems to be failing at the moment. In hope that the server will cope in the near future, I leave the above link.
However, other sites may be of interest:

The Dragonmount site is back up and working again. There's some quite interesting pieces that have been added to the blog recently...

* Some words from Harriet...
http://www.dragonmount.com/RobertJordan/?p=91
* A Journey to Robert Jordan's funeral by Jason from Dragonmount...
http://www.dragonmount.com/RobertJordan/?p=92
* A post from Willl McDougal... James Rigney's stepson...
http://www.dragonmount.com/RobertJordan/?p=93

The first and the third talk about a lot about James Rigney as a person, and what the people closes to him thought of him. The second post is very interesting... the fan who wrote it was able to go to James & Harriet's house. As well as a description of the funeral itself, there is also information & pictures of the house, and in particular the carriage house where the writing was done.
