I heard somewhere (i hav no idea where so no idea how close to the truth it might be) that he has written the basics of the final book in the series & is stretching it out as long as possible with the intention of his son (does he even hav a son??) completing it once he dies... .
All along he has said that he has known how the final book will go, and how it will end. I don't think that he would want to drag it out too much... I remember when he was out here several years ago he mentioned that he wanted to finish the series so that he could move onto other projects. This was at the release of a Path of Daggers, and since then the pace of the books has picked up.
Also, according his blog at Dragonmount, he has been doing almost no writing since he contracted Amyloidosis. The last timeframe for the release of a Memory of Light I can recall is finished in 2008, and published in 2009.
Considering all that he is going through at the moment, I'm willing to wait as long as it takes. Just hoping that he is the one who will finish it, and not somebody else.
