The Infinitas Urban Fantasy Book Club is no more, alas.

This book club did not survive the closure of the bookshop. However, the other book club did and as of mid 2015 the Review Group is still going strong, now meeting at Parramatta RSL on the third Thursday of each month.

Infinitas hosts a vibrant book club focussing on urban fantasy and paranormal romance. We meet at the shop on the second Thursday evening of each month at 6pm and finish up by 8pm. Usually we share a bottle or two of wine with some cheese, biscuits, chips or other nibblies. Contributions are welcome. It is OK to bring in a take away dinner to eat at the start of the group.

The group selects the titles to discuss, hopefully two months in advance. This should give the shop enough time to order in some copies, and the group time to buy and read the book by the meeting. Upcoming title are listed in the monthly Infinitas Newsletter. There may be a discussion on our forums as well.

Urban fantasy is a story with supernatural or magical elements set in the modern world. There is often potential romance with a paranomal partner, and characters who may be vampires, werewolves, djinn, spirits, fallen angels, or other supernatual enties. Often the lead hero of the book is a dangerous kick arse single woman solving a mystery, saving the world and maybe getting a man along the way. If you enjoy reading such books, then this group may be for you.

Sharing with other readers is not only fun, it brings us new appreciation of the books. Hearing which books like minded readers enjoyed introduces us to authors with books to enjoy.

All welcome. If you want more information ask us at the shop. Don't worry if you have not read the book listed for the next meeting, as not all of us do, it is just a starting topic for the discussion. Occasionally the chosen book was not liked by any in the group so we talk about the other books we have recently read. Please join us in our love of books.
