For years Infinitas has hosted regular role playing games, and since the shop closed they continue at other venues.
There are games roughly every fortnight on Saturday mornings.
These are casual games run for fun and to introduce new players to the game.
The regular players are happy to explain how to play.
Experienced players are welcome too.
Feel free to just turn up and join in. All welcome.
Venues vary frequently. Games have run at Mars Hill Cafe (also now closed), at Parramatta Library (about to be demolished late 2015), The Games Cube in Phillip Street (if not busy with MTG gamers), The Town Hall (great but hard to book) and in cafes.
Current venue is likey to be the cafe on the corner of Smith and George Streets Parramatta. We suggest arriving around 9am to have coffee or breakfast before gaming starts. Remember, if a cafe will put up with us gaming, we should spend money with them.
We strongly suggest you check if we are meeting and where before coming along by visiting the new Facebook Group which you can join.
New Location: Retro Room, Parramatta City Council Library, Civic Place, Parramatta. The Retro room is on the mezzanine level - enter the library, go up the stairs to the first landing and the Retro room is towards the East (left). The room is booked for us fortnightly Saturdays from January 19th onwards. Games start at 10am and finish up around 2pm, but may finish earlier in the event of a TPK (total party killed).
As of 2013 there typically 3 games running simultaneously, but this depends upon who turns up. The January sessions attracted 17 to 18 people. We are dependant upon volunteer Dungeon Masters. Let us know if you can help. Bring your own dice if you can. Bring a character of the appropiate level (check with us at the shop) prepared by RPGA standards if you know how, but there will probably be pre-prepared characters ready to go. You will not need rule books, unless you want to convice the DM of some rule which benefits your character. There is usually a break around noon to visit the take-away down the road to get lunch, which is then eaten during the second session.
In years past when we were running games at the shop, additional to our regular games, we have participated in Wizards of the Coast's occasional global D&D days, which promote significant new product releases. These events tend to attract more players. For one we ran 11 parties through the same adventure. This took some organising. Such events will be announced in our Infinitas Newsletter. Reports and photos of two of the previous D&D Days are on our Photo Gallery at 4th edition launch June 2008 and Monster Manual 2 launch May 2009.
Infinitas supports these D&D games in the hope the gamers will support Infinitas, so please do and have fun.
